Originally called Blue Ribbon Sports the company started as a distributor for the Japanese shoe company Onitsuka Tiger (now known as ASICS). In 1971, the company changed its name to Nike and launched its iconic Swoosh logo. Nike is known for its innovative designs and technology, as well as its marketing campaigns featuring high-profile athletes such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Serena Williams.
